Situated in the very centre of the beautiful village of Bourton on the Water in the heart of the Cotswolds, are two very special Five Star, Gold Award apartments at The Cotswold Perfumery. Despite being so central, they are remarkably quiet and the layout - with bedrooms at the rear - ensures a peaceful night's sleep.
The Location
Bourton on the Water is so central it makes the perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds. It is a beautiful area for walking, cycling or touring and not too far to the towns either - 15 miles to Cheltenham and the races, and just 25 miles to Stratford upon Avon and the theatres.
The Accommodation
Fully refurbished in 2010, the Cotswold Perfumery apartments are thoroughly modern yet retain all the character and charm of this 300 year old Grade II listed building. A great deal of thought has gone into these conversions that cover the upper floors at the front of the property overlooking the village centre and the River Windrush. A live webcam shows the view from the lounge windows.
In August 2010, the inspector from Quality in Tourism assessed both apartments as meeting the standards required for Five Stars with a Gold Award. The full, unedited inspector's report is available as a download.
Apartment Facilities
Each apartment is completely self contained and has its own unique character. Both have one bedroom and are finished to a very high standard Price-wise and equipment-wise they are identical. A downloadable inventory gives full details.
Both apartments are strictly non smoking, and sorry, but no children under 16 and no pets.
Complimentary Cream Tea & Factory Tour
As an essential part of any visit to the Cotswolds, a traditional cream tea is provided on arrival as part of the complimentary welcome pack. A small selection of groceries are also included (please see inventory for details).
Factory Tours are available free of charge to accommodation guests (subject to availability only). The factory tour, RRP £5.00 per adult, offers visitors a unique chance to go behind the scenes of the Cotswold Perfumery which has been creating fine fragrances since 1966. Discounted Rates for Perfumery Course Attendees
If the apartments are booked on a date that coincides with a one day Perfumery Course or Lab Day, a discount of £50 is given for each place taken on these courses. Learning how to make perfume as part of a holiday makes a break with a real difference. There is simply no other course like it.
