What perfumes do celebrities wear?

22 Feb 2017

We’ve just discovered an article by revered fashion bible, Vogue magazine, that answers a question we’ve long pondered over. Namely, what perfumes do the world’s most famous leading ladies wear? We can’t verify the accuracy of course, but it certainly purports to give an insight into the fragrances that are worn by the crème de la crème of Hollywood.

So, if you want to smell like the A List, then here’s what you should be wearing…

Ashley Olsen

Wears: Dior Bois D’Argent and L’Artisan Mure et Musc

We love the fact that Ms Olsen’s choices are a little obscure. Mure et Musc is a blend of heady musk and blackberries, whereas Bois D’Argent is a unisex fragrance that mixes woody notes and intense myrrh, incense and patchouli with juniper berries.

Blake Lively

Wears: Gucci Eau Première and Victoria’s Secret Ooh La La Shimmering Fragrance Mist

Predictably, the Vogue insiders are suggesting that Blake wears Gucci, and as the face of this perfume, that seems a safe bet! However, we like the fact that she’s also keen on a High Street favourite - the Victoria’s Secret fruity fragrance that blends mandarin, cherry blossom and vanilla.

Emma Stone

Wears: Chanel Gardenia

With La La Land scooping awards across the board, we’re happy to learn that its elegant, beautiful, talented leading lady wears a classic Chanel fragrance. Apparently, Stone says she takes this with her when she travels and that it helps her fall asleep when she sprays it on her pillow.

Victoria Beckham

Wears: Creed Royal Water

Apparently Creed is aimed at royalty, so perhaps no surprise that Mrs Beckham is aspiring to mix in noble circles. This is another unisex fragrance, with a fresh citrus top note with a hint of peppermint, followed by juniper berry and basil. This is a classic, elegant and fresh fragrance.

Miley Cyrus

Wears: Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile

The rebellious Cyrus has chosen a fragrance that could be seen as a mature choice. With intense woody notes and white florals, it’s quite traditional which is at odds with the singer’s stage persona, which is perhaps precisely why she loves it.

Anne Hathaway

Wears: Chanel Chance and Lancôme Magnifique

A bit of a predictable one here as Hathaway is often seen wearing Chanel fashion, as well as appearing regularly on the front row at their catwalk shows. She also fronted the campaign for Lancôme Magnifique so again, hardly a surprise she’s a ‘fan’ of this perfume.

Sienna Miller

Wears: Jo Malone

It seems fitting to us that British beauty Miller favours British brand Jo Malone. There seems to be some debate over the actual scent she prefers with both French Lime Blossom and Lime Basil and Mandarin being suggested. Both are fresh and fruity and very much in keeping with Sienna’s youthful beauty.

Taylor Swift

Wears: Escada Moon Sparkle

She may well have her own perfume, but singing megastar Taylor apparently favours this Escada fragrance over her own scent. A sweet, fruity, floral perfume it has notes of strawberry, blackcurrant, citrus and red fruits as well as sweet pea, freesia, jasmine and rose.
